The Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) is where all the threads of collecting, cleaning, sorting, disinfecting and sterilizing as well as the final return transport to the place of destination come together.

Transport trolleys for sterile materials
The novocal transport trolleys for sterile materials are available in three versions to achieve the greatest possible flexibility. For one model, inner frames are available to accommodate modules, in the second variant the bearing rails for modules are already integrated in the trolley. In the third model stainless steel shelves (fixed or removable) are available.

Why transport trolleys for sterile materials are important
Transport trolleys for sterile materials are designed to move infected or contaminated instruments so that they can be cleaned, disinfected, sorted and sterilized. After completion of the extensive work, the sterile instruments are again transported to their destination in the transport trolley. The instruments are now ready for use and can be used.
What distinguishes a high-quality transport trolley for sterile materials
A well thought-out, easy-to-clean and user-friendly transport trolley optimises processes in the internal or external central sterile goods supply department CSSD.
Chassis
The CSSD trolleys have a chassis made of satin-finished stainless steel sheeting. The folded pyramid roof improves water drainage so that water does not remain on the roof.
Doors
The transport trolley for sterile materials can be closed by two doors made of double sheet metal with all-round silicone seal. The doors can be fixed at 255° and 270°.
Handles and castors
Four vertical push bars made of tubular profile are mounted at the edges for easy navigation. The all-round shock protection bumpers protect walls from damage and dirt. The two rigid castors and two castor wheels with a diameter of 160 mm make the sterile goods transport trolleys easy to move. A stop function prevents the trolley from rolling away unintentionally.
Different transport trolleys for sterile materials
novocal has three different basic variants of the transport trolleys:
- trolleys with a guide to accommodate inner frames for modules
- transport trolleys with integrated bearing rails for modules; these are either permanently mounted (-F) or height-adjustable (-H)
- trolleys with fixed or removable (-A) stainless steel shelves

If you choose the first model – separate trolley with separate inner frame – your priority is to achieve greater flexibility. The inner frame can be removed as required and added directly to the sterile goods cycle.
DIN containers or wire mesh baskets can be inserted into the inner frame. For the transport trolleys for sterile materials with fixed support rails, only DIN containers can be used.

Both the separate inner frames and the transport trolleys with included support rails can be divided into one, two or three rows as required. The size of the insertable modules is – depending on the model – 600 x 300 mm or 600 x 400 mm.

stainless steel shelves
The transport trolleys for sterile materials with stainless steel shelves are also very flexible and individual. There are two shelves in the interior, which can be fixed or removed (depending on the model). The large shelves are therefore also suitable for containers that are not standardised and in which large instruments must be transported.
Storage facilities for sterile goods
With the rack trolley for sterile materials or the cabinet for sterile materials, you have an overview of all the work and auxiliary equipment required in the entire cleaning cycle.
All sides of the rack trolley are open and freely accessible. The stainless steel frame offers the possibility of hooking in stainless steel shelves or mesh shelves at a distance of 110 mm. Different widths are available here. Four smooth-running castor wheels with a diameter of 125 mm make it easy to move around.
The different cabinets for sterile materials are suitable for storing sterilization containers and/or baskets for sterile sets and packaging material.

As varied as the tasks in the operating theatre and in the internal or external CSSD are – as varied are the possibilities for safe storage and hygienic transport of infected or contaminated instruments, e.g. by transport trolleys for sterile materials or rack trolleys.
